The main airport here is on Providenciales (airport code PLS).

Once you arrive at the Providenciales Airport, you will clear immigration and customs, and be able to secure a taxi or rental car at the airport (reservations in advance suggested if you desire airport pick-up. Northwest Point is about a 15 minute drive from the airport

Providenciales is also home to a state of the art air center (FBO) for private aircraft. Check here for more information. Boaters can also enter the TCI via the Turtle Cove Marina, which has customs and immigration services.

Provo is a small island – roughly 30 miles long by 3 miles wide – so all of our attractions are easy to get to. Among the highlights you’ll want to check out:

Malcomb’s Beach: A 5 minute drive from our resorts, this is a virtually uninhabited stretch of gorgeous white sand and rolling surf. Prime diving spots are located just off shore with dramatic wall dives and abundant sea life. The exclusive Amanyara Resort is discretely located just off the beach here.  Don't forget to ask the front desk about some of their favorite snorkeling spots just north of Malcomb Beach, sure to inspire even the divers.

Blue Hills: Just five minutes from Northwest Point is Blue Hills. An original settlement or village on Provo, Blue Hill retains its old island charm. Drive along the road by the sea and stop in a number of bars and restaurants, like Three Queens, Froggie’s, Lee Forbes, Sailing in Paradise, Smokey’s, Da Conch Shack or Horse Eyed Jacks and get a sense of true island living. Friendly domino games and local music are common occurrences. There are also a few arts and crafts shops along Blue Hills Road. ATV rentals with guided beach tours are also available from Froggie’s at the western end of Blue Hills (closest to Northwest Point)

Turtle Cove Marina: A 15 minute drive from Northwest Point.  The main marina on the island also include s a few casual restaurants like Tiki Hut, the Anchorage, Shark Bite and Baci for your enjoyment. A couple of dive shops also operate out of Turtle Cove. It is the site of events and concerts from time to time, and a good place to watch the mega yachts roll in. There is also a movie rental store, a water sports supplier, and a casino (Players Club) located by the marina.

Grace Bay: This is the main commercial area of Provo and about a 15 minute drive. It features a wide variety of restaurants, bars, shopping, a casino, and other amenities. There are several places to stock up on food and beverage supplies (Graceway Gourmet market, Wine & Spirits) and three main shopping centers with local shops, boutiques, art stores, clothing, accessories, etc. (Ports of Call, Regent Village and Salt Mills). The main stretch is about 3 miles long and it runs parallel to Grace Bay Beach, where many of Provo’s luxury condo and resorts are located. The beach is public to anyone and there are entrances located along the road. We recommend the public access point just between Ocean Club east and Club Med, or just go left opposite the Provo Golf Club entrance and down to the local popular hot spot Flamingo Cafe. Gorgeous beach front views of Grace Bay, the cheapest beer on the Island, a delicious menu and the freshest fish.

Note the main supermarket on Provo - the IGA - is located on Leeward Highway and you pass it on your way to the Grace Bay area. Here you will find everythiing you need to stock your kitchen and bar. Right before you get to IGA (on the right as you drive east, or away from, Northwest Point) is also the island's only movie cinema.

Chalk Sound/Sapodilla Bay: Located on the southern side of the island – about a 15 minute drive -  this area features many exclusive private homes as well as a nice sandy beach with shallow entry points that extend for quite a ways into the water. The beaches on this side of the island are usually calmer, and across the street is the dramatic Chalk Sound – an inland saltwater lake featuring surreal colors. Kayak and paddle boat rentals are available at Las Brisas restaurant.

Provo Golf Club: The island's only golf course is about a 20 minute drive. It is a championship caliber layout designed by Karl Litton, It hosted the Caribbean Amateur Championships in 2009. The club includes a full service pro shop with equipment rentals available, 3 teaching pros who offer private lessons, a driving range and putting green, as well as a great restaurant and bar (Fairways) open fro breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Exploring the other Islands of the Turks & Caicos:  If you're interested in seeing our sister Islands North and Middle Caicos then ask the front desk about taking a ferry boat from Leeward past Iguana Island, Pine Cay, Fort George, Parrot Cay and to North Caicos. From there you can rent a car from Mark at Pelican Beach car rentals and have him give you two maps of North and Middle Caicos for a self guided tour. Both Islands are unique in their own way and much more laid back than busy Provo. Check out the caves and breathtaking beaches on Middle, finish your day at either the Pelican Beach Hotel and their charming beach bar, enjoy a visit with Clifford and hear all his old stories or see Karen at the famous Silver Palms restaurant. A day truly not to be missed.  To see some of our other islands, you can arrange boat tours to places like Little Way Cay (home of the iguana sanctuary), Pine Cay, Parrot Cay, or West Caicos.  Local airline service is also available to Grand Turk (our capital), Salt Cay and South Caicos.

Long Bay Beach: A popular spot for sail boarders and kite surfers, this is a quiet, calm stretch of beach on the south side of the island. Roughly 20-25 minute drive form Northwest Point. Follow signs for the Shore Club. Provo Ponies, a local horseback operator, Provo Ponies,is also based in Long Bay and offers horseback riding on the beach.

Great Experience

My family and I were at NWPR Feb 16-24. I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed being there. I didn't have time to fill out comment sheet when checking out. Had to get last bit of sun before coming home. Mad dash to airport. I just wanted to say that we had a great experience. Mike was quite helpful with restaurant ideas and places to explore on the island. I just want to say that we thoroughly enjoyed NWPR and hope to come back again.
